Clinical supervision and consulting

CLINICAL SUPERVISION AND CONSULTING

I am an Accredited Clinical Supervisor offering individual and group clinical supervision and consultation to counsellors, social workers, students, and other health and community workers. I bring over a decade’s experience with areas of focus in gender affirming care; healing from complex trauma; and sexuality and sexual wellness. My work is grounded in anti-oppression and I have experience in a broad range of modalities, including Indigenous Focusing Oriented Therapy, DBT, mindfulness,  somatic and expressive practices.

I believe that who you are matters on a personal and professional level, and I often work with people with intersectional identities, including queer, trans and BIPOC therapists. I value clinical supervision as a relational practice that honours our own path while meeting our clients’ needs, and I favour a holistic approach that makes space for your wellbeing in your work, explores development and changes to your practice, and helps support your overall career goals. If you are someone seeking joy and fulfilment in your work through social justice doing, with an overarching goal of collective healing and liberation, I may be a good fit for you.

Areas of interest:

  • Building respectful therapeutic relationships with trans, nonbinary and Two-Spirit youth and adult clients, including provision of gender affirming care.
  • Exploring effective, culturally respectful and non-appropriative interventions and modalities with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Nonpathologizing, strength-based approaches to working with neurodivergent clients
  • Working with people whose sexual or relational identities or practices have been marginalized, including asexual, aromantic, polyamorous, ethically monogamous, and kinky people.
  • Navigating ethical challenges while living and working in small communities or subcultures
  • Finding work/life balance as a person with variable or limited energy and capacity
  • Centering your values and ethics during small business start-up, marketing and maintenance
  • Minimizing harm to ourselves and our clients when working in or alongside professional, institutional and other structured environments where systemic oppression is present.
  • Mitigating harm from vicarious trauma
  • Recovery from burnout

My rate for clinical supervision is $175/50 minute session. Please contact me for rates and information on group supervision.

I offer a free 20 minute consultation to see how we might work together.

CURRENT WORKSHOPS

Unspeakable Grief: for Queer, Trans, Nonbinary and Two-Spirit support workers
Tuesday April 15 2025, 7 – 8:30 pm
At Cross & Crows Books, 2836 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
Facilitated by Matsui De Roo
Registration required: genderoo.janeapp.com

As healthcare, frontline, or other support workers, it’s not uncommon for us to experience the death of a client, colleague, or community member—but it can often feel like we have nowhere to turn. Our work environments aren’t typically built to support these types of losses. Client confidentiality carries beyond death, and workplace norms may make it hard to open up about our emotions. And we may be active in small communities, where our personal and professional lives overlap. But it’s important to allow ourselves space to grieve.

This free, in-person grief circle will be a facilitated space where you will be encouraged to acknowledge your feelings, and participate in a healing ritual together.

This group is being generously hosted by Cross and Crows books, a Vancouver based, queer-owned small business. Please consider arriving early or staying late to shop here. You can also shop online anytime at  www.crossandcrows.com.
